How to Live a Heart Healthy Lifestyle (Pt 1)

Maintaining a healthy heart is crucial for overall well-being. Adopting a healthy lifestyle at any stage of life can prevent heart disease and reduce the chances of a heart attack or stroke. It is never too late or too early to start taking care of your heart. While starting early provides long-term benefits, making positive changes, even if you have had a heart attack, can still make a difference.

Eating nutritious foods and regular physical activity are some of the most effective ways to improve heart health. Additionally, there are several other measures you can take to lower your risk of heart disease. Some of the risk factors that can increase the chances of heart disease include:

  • Smoking

  • High blood pressure

  • Obesity or being overweight

  • High cholesterol levels

  • Lack of physical activity

  • Family history of heart disease (especially a parent or sibling)
